Hola, me llamo Jennie Eubank. Soy estudiante de EEUU, y visite Panama con Dr.Miguel Karian y su grupo de un parte del Semestre del Mar. Vistitamos el fin de Mayo, y fui muy impresianado con las cosas importantes en que ustedes son creando en Achiote y su comunidad entero. Tengo dos cosas: Primero, tengo un profesor en la Universidad de Sonoma, en el norte de California, USA, quien esta escribiendo un libro que se llama "Ecological Handprints" o "Marcas de Mano Ecologico". Si conocen la cita del internet se llama "Ecological Footprints" (Marcas del Pie Ecologico) donde una persona puede a entrar cosas personales de su manera a vivir (coches que maneja, donde y que compra en la tienda, como gana la energia, etc), la computadora dice cuantos planetas necesitamos si todos en esta planeta viva el mismo. Por ejemplo, muchas personas en EEUU vivan exagerado en que necesitan en realidad a vivir mas simple. Entonces, la computadora calcula algo como 6 planetas para suportir esa manera a vivir por todos. Al contrario, mi profesor esta escribiendo un libro que dice "Cuando personas hacen cosas sostenibles en sus comunidades, eso es el efecto", y el e va a poner ejemplos de organizaciones como ustedes que estan levantando la calidad de vida por la gente sin la contaminacion de la planeta. Quiero a saber si esta bien a pasar tu informacion a el?
El segundo cosa es para preguntar de las armamentos que ya estan en su bosque. Yo recuerdo de nos guia que dice que EEUU el presidente lo acuerdo a removar los, pero ya no hace nada! Yo se, el gobierno es dificil a influenciar, pero con el grupo del Semestre del Mar, es posible que nosotros estudiantes puedan a peticionar el presidente Obama para hacer algo definitivo y pronto a removar los armamentos. Dime si es algo importante tambien a la gente, y yo soy preparada a hacer algo! Soy maestra de clases del ambiente tambien, y yo creo que nosotros necesitan estar juntos en ese vida, me acuerdan?

I lived and worked on FT.Gulick/ Espinar, Ft, Davis. Ft. Sherman and areas-countries surrounding for near 4 years. I have humped thejungles, swam the rivers and oceans and seas related as a young man. By far, some of the best times of my life. I have become a Mexico\ Belize explorer as of the last 8 years, but I truely yearn to return to Panama! |

I was stationed at Ft. davis from 1992-1994. We often went to Ft. San Lorenzo fo it's beauty and it's isolation. You never knew what you might see driving between Davis and Sherman or when you drove down the gravel road to San Lorenzo. We generally planned a day trip so we could spend time at Devil's beach for a swim or go exploring. We will go back...I am sure much has changed in the last 13 years since I left. |

Was unable to download completely. We went to Fort San Lorenzo today Tuesday, November 21,2006. (It was raining heavily all day long. We even had to move a tree off the road to arrive at the Fort.) We lived in Panama/Canal Zone in the early 70's. This area is so beautiful and needs to be preserved. I will do what I can to help. My spanish is not very good.
